Unlearn to Suppress Your Emotions: It’s okay to not be okay
Let’s be honest and answer ourselves how many times in a day we think negatively. Humans have a tendency to think negative when we are into comparison. Additionally, when empathy and compassion are mismanaged we tend to project “Okay” onto everyone including ourselves. For example, when we are sick, we think that everything is fine and do not get the proper treatment and get sicker.
We really need to understand that it’s okay to not be okay. If you had an emotional breakdown, please understand you do not have to suffer in silence. Talk to someone about it, and please unlearn to suppress your emotions. Because, the silence, suppression, the emotions might trap you. And, take an oath to spread emotional awareness and let the world understand that it’s okay to not be okay!
It’s Normal to Not be Okay
Since childhood, we somehow learned to not show our emotions in the fear of being judged. At some point, we all agree that not sharing the emotions, issues, and breakdowns kill the person inside. Therefore, from now we should establish a society wherein talking about emotional awareness should be common and people should not judge the other on the basis of their state.
Since depression does not have a face, we should not judge anyone on the basis of their talks and looks because you never know through what instances the other person is going. Let everyone know that it’s okay to not be okay!
Feel your Feelings: Vanish the Fear of Judgment
Feeling your feelings, in the beginning, is overwhelming. When a person is being ignored or abused, he\she might take the help of any kind of sedative which actually numbs the emotions and the feelings inside. Therefore, if you are going through something bad, please do not ignore your feelings in the fear of judgment. Your family and friends really want to support you. Let them know about your feelings and let them know that you are not okay! Communicating with family or friends is the toughest step but trust me it is way better than going into numbness.
Feel your feelings and emotions and remember it’s okay to not be okay!
You’re never alone!
We all have good days, bad days, stressed days, emotional days, not so okay days, anger days, or many more days after the end of all these days we need someone to share everything and every part of the day. While having bad days, please do talk with someone and do not isolate yourself. Share the feelings with your partner, parents, friends, loved ones, and closed ones. We all have someone in our lives with whom we share everything. Keep yourself surrounded by positive people who actually support you.
This will Definitely Pass:
Once you learn how to cope and manage your feelings, I assure you that the bad days or your bad phase will pass, and you will come out of all this with more strength and power. Therefore, never underestimate yourself and whenever you feel like having a rough patch, do not suppress your emotions and talk about it with your loved ones.
If your loved one is going through something bad, do not leave them, hold them, hug them, and let them know that you are always there no matter what! Spread emotional awareness and let people understand that it’s okay to not be okay.
You deserve sunshine, rainbows, and happiness do not let yourself move into the dark. Be gentle with yourself and keep telling yourself that it’s okay and this will pass. With this, I hope you like this blog. For more such content, follow Calm Sage on all social media platforms.
