Spiritual Teachings of Trees: The Power of Trees
Trees have always mankind to do better in life, develop something better, and to be more creative. Be it building our furniture or houses, trees have always provided warmth to us. Talking from a spiritual perspective, trees have helped us to heal; their medicinal properties have saved many lives. With this, we cannot deny the fact that trees are important for all of us, the ecosystem, animals, insects, and including everything. Indeed, trees are sacred, giving, majestic, and magical. In this blog, I have covered the analogy of spiritual teachings of trees highlighting the benefits of trees. So, let’s get started.
Flexibility Along with Strength
Trees teach us to be stronger along with flexibility. People surrounded by trees feel deeper experiences than other people. They can feel every inch of gratitude and grounding every time they look at the surrounded nature. Meanwhile, people surrounded by palm trees feel more calm and soothing with the swaying of palm fronds.
Taking your pet out for a walk surrounded by nature makes you feel more engaging and connecting. This is the only reason, people love trees. The reason being, they are always giving, grounding, and protecting. They have always given something to us, fruits and vegetables, furniture, house, support, medicines, herbs, protection, and whatnot. Most importantly, they have given us the paper to teach, write, and learn. Do you think I am forgetting something? Oh yes! They help us to breathe; they clear the air for us without demanding anything. I think this is the biggest reason to love trees more and more.
Famous poetry on Tree by Ilan Shamir
Dear Friend,
Stand tall and proud
Sink your roots deeply into the earth
Reflect the light of a greater source
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The energy and birth of spring
The growth and contentment of summer
The wisdom to let go of leaves in the fall
The rest and quiet renewal of winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night.
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Simple pleasures
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!
Oak vs. Bamboo
Oak and bamboo are strong and proud. They are known to be the strongest trees with solid branches and grip of the roots which is one of the enduring powers of stability and fortitude. Even a storm can drive them crazy but cannot break them. Flexibility and strength are some of the great spiritual learning from oak.
Talking about Bamboo, Bamboo’s are beautiful, well-rooted, and strong. It might not have flexibility like an oak tree but bamboo has a different way of tackling tough situations. The bamboo tree bends according to the winds, mimics the flow of water around the rocks. The soft bamboo branches bend and accept the flow of the wind, works with it, and ultimately wins over the tougher situations as well.
Teachings from tees in a nutshell
Who all think that being sturdy is the part of the personality, being sturdy might sound comfortable to all of us. But, being soft and flexible has more benefits than being sturdy. Trees teach us to work with the hard times not against them. I was really amazed by a reading of a book named, “The Big Book” by AA which started, “acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation, some fact of my life unacceptable to me and can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.” Similarly, the bamboo and oak molds according to the situations.
