Managing Stress at Workplace
How can you manage??? You need to…
Organize
You may be surprised to know but if you want to manage your stress in the office then you will have to take some steps before even reaching the office. When you are at home, you should pay attention to things like managing your screen time, placing keys and important stuff in places, doing dishes before you sleep, filling water bottles and preparing your backpack. Organizing basic stuff will help you clear out mess and in the morning, you will have to just get ready and leave as you will find everything already in place.
Exercise
It can be in the form of jogging, yoga, Pilates or even dancing. Do whatever, but don’t shy away from sweating. Exercise refreshes your mind, brain and body and is necessary to maintain a healthy condition. It gets the blood flowing and also provides a boost of oxygen to your brain which is very much needed after a long sleep. Studies have also shown that exercise helps reduce stress and stabilizes mood swings. So it is a win-win situation.
Meditate
Calming down yourself is never a bad idea. Breathe-in, breathe-out and voila! You may have just avoided an argument. Keep your nerves calmed and you may just become your boss’s favorite employee. And on the top of becoming employee of the month, you need to understand, an argument won’t necessarily make your opponent understand your point of view but can definitely make him angry. Your peace of mind is very important. Treat it as an asset and
cherish it. Even if you have to walk a few steps extra to maintain it, do it. You will understand its importance after you have gotten out of the situation.
Say no to Multitasking
Multitasking may seem to save you time and you may also think how talented you are but also remember that it can also reduce quality of the work that you are doing and may hamper your concentration and focus. Doing more than one thing at a time, though trains your mind to jump from one activity to another but also breaks its focus time on one single activity. So choose wisely.
Music is something we all love. Though we all may have different tastes but we all have liking towards it. When you go to the office or come back after a long day at work. Your favorite tracks can help you destress and relax. A happy mind is better than a tired one and whenever you are at it try some moves too. You may as well sweat some as you enjoy the beats.
As mentioned earlier, that there are ‘n’ number of ways to stress over the situations you are in. but there are also numerous ways in which you can destress and relax. You will have to take some time out and learn to manage your stress. Your workplace can be a place where stress lives but once you learn to deal with it. The rest of the journey becomes easier.
