The Ultimate Power of Patience: Tips to Develop Patience
To begin with, I am not the one with lots of patience even in frustrating moments. Whenever I order something, I still check my mailbox, call logs; my entire attention goes only on the delivery of the product (how stressful it becomes). Even I have lost someone who was so close to me just because I didn’t have the patience to have control over the situations. Apparently, I lost him but over months I have really worked hard on my patience level to get better. However, I still struggle to wait for online orders (that is a good type of stress).
Losing someone and getting into more frustrating situations are some of the common outcomes of being impatient. To stop feeling overwhelmed, bad, frustrated, and confused… learning patience can be really effective. In this blog, I have discussed the power of patience along with the best and effective tips to develop patience.
Effective Tips for Developing Patience
1. Accept the reality
This tip might feel cliché to you all, but the fact is patience is something that comes from within and should be developed with what we have. And the truth is…reality is the only thing which we deny because of our expectations. So, let’s feel the power of patience with accepting what we have and what the reality shows to us.
Accepting reality and working towards goals along with calm will help you to establish a patience level. Accepting the reality does not mean that you have to stick in the job you hate. It simply means to accept your experience the moment (even if it is unpleasant).
2. Go beyond uncomfortable and tolerance
To understand this tip in a better way, suppose you are stuck in traffic and the next second traffic light turns green, you are also going to drive ahead of the line. To develop patience, resist the urge towards rash driving or going ahead of the line.
You do not have to act impulsively every time. Give time to yourself and work patiently. Every time, you make an online order; resist yourself from checking your phone every minute. Start from small stuff and slightly move towards big goals.
3. Be a good listener
Being a good listener has various benefits. Moreover, you can also build patience while being a good listener. How many times we argue to speak and not to listen. Whenever something bad happens with us, anger takes over our mind in such a way that we forget to listen to what other person has to say and start speaking worse.
Therefore, in such situations keep up with your calm and listen to what other person has to say. This will clear all the misunderstandings and will also maintain the relationship. The power of patience actually comes into effectiveness when we learn to control our anger.
4. Follow the path of mindfulness
Mindfulness is the only practice that keeps us present at the moment and maintains the calm. Mindfulness along with patience combines effectively and will help you building as a better person. Mindfulness and patience can be learned with various techniques. Moreover, you can also learn mindfulness with yoga and meditation.
5. Slow down and take a deep breath
Whenever something bad happens which can swap off your patience level, remind yourself to play a little more smartly. Do not let anger take control of yourself…take a deep breath, slow down, and try to integrate between the situations. Try to change your lookout and determine the situation from half glass empty or half full theory.
