10 Bad Habits You Need to Avoid to Live a Positive Life
What keeps you unhappy… stuck… what stops you from living a happy life… what makes you disappointed…. What makes you stressed……?
Do you have any answers… well! I have one…
Bad Habits! Bad habits are the only negative point of your life which keeps you stuck and clueless. So, I again have a question from you…. What is the right time to eliminate bad habits from your life?
The answer is there is no perfect or right time! Whenever you find yourself in a bad habit loop, you can eliminate it from your life easily. Follow the 21-90 rules. So, the 21-90 rule states that it takes 21 days to make a habit and 90 days to make a lifestyle.
I know it is tough but never forget that the objective is a positive life.
Through this blog, I am highlighting 5 common habits that you need to completely eliminate from your life to live a happy positive life.
Bad Habits You Need to Quit Right Away:
1. Living a middling life
It is high time to step out of your comfort zone and remember that the biggest pleasures are obtained when we put ourselves at some degree of risk. Hard work is the only key. Step out of your comfort zone and chase your dreams and aspirations. It will help you reach your goals.
Because it is rightly quoted by Albert Einstein:
“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
2. Postponing your objective of life
Procrastination will not let you reach the goals of your life. Procrastination is the only external obstacle that needs to be completely eliminated from life.

Therefore, start working towards your goals from today onwards. Take that first step!
Never stop, just keep on working towards your dream. It’s never too late. Remember consistent efforts are the only key to success and positive life.
Because Seth Godwin once said:
“Our job is obvious: we need to get out of the way, shine a light, and empower a new generation to teach it and go further and faster than any generation ever has.”
3. Running from your issues
Stop running from your issues and problems instead start chasing the right process. Stop looking back; stop looking in the past, stop seeking the negative sides!
Try to find a positive aspect in every negative situation! And see how effectively it looks! The day you find positivity in the negative is the day from when your actual success starts.

As I recently read a quote by Brandon Smith:
Never look back at your past, everything happens for a reason, keep your head up and look forward, the more you look back the more beautiful thing you will miss in life.”
4. Self-Sabotaging
What is that pattern which disrupts your success, growth or happiness? And what are you doing to eliminate this habit from your life? It is known as self-sabotaging.
Find that pattern and immediately say goodbye to that pattern. Because we have to live in a positive life and sabotage patterns have to leave!

An anonymous person rightly quoted:
“Self-sabotage is like a game of mental tug-of-war. It is the conscious mind versus the subconscious mind where the subconscious mind always eventually wins.”
5. Blaming others
Accusing others or blaming others has never given anything in return. The way to live a healthy positive life is to be always accountable for your actions and deeds.

If you have a habit of blaming others in negative situations, just stop doing this.
“Stop blaming others for your troubles. The extent to which you can achieve your dreams depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life. When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility; you give others power over that part of your life.”
6. Stress Eating
Binge eating or stress eating impacts mental health and physical health. Therefore, try to avoid emotional eating and start using stress management techniques to fight with the stress with positive outcomes. Moreover, you can also try these mantras for stress instead of binge eating.

Karen appropriately quoted…
“When you overeat it’s because you’re avoiding a needed conversation with yourself. Swap pigging out for listening up.”
7. Toxic Personality
Surrounding yourself with toxic personalities is the least thing you should try to do. If you really want to do something better in life, try to surround yourself with people who actually support you, not those who are being toxic to you.

Toxic people can make you toxic as well. Therefore, save yourself from such personalities.
John Mark Green appropriately quoted…
“People attach themselves like cinder blocks tied to your ankles, and then invite you for a swim in their poisoned waters.”
8. Smoke or alcohol use
Substance or alcohol use when life is not going according to you is not the solution. Instead of making things worse, try to make them right and stop taking the support of smoke whenever you’re stressed. Instead, you can try these substitutes to manage your stress, like tea, sound baths, natural bath, drinks, and whatnot.
Abraham Maslow rightly quoted…
“Quitting smoking can be a very good test of one’s character. Pass the test and you will have accomplished so much more than just get rid of one habit.”
9. Too much use of digital devices
Getting too much involved in digital devices cuts us out from reality and also impacts our mental health. Therefore, try to avoid digital devices as much as you can. Additionally, you can also try Digital Detox with these tips.

Arianna Huffington appropriately quoted…

10. Leaving Things for last minute
“Will see” and leaving things for the last minute is the best thing you can try to avoid having a positive life. “Will see” factor impacts majorly on our professional and personal life.
Try to take small steps, do not take too much on your plate, and whatever you commit… try to complete on timeline.
Don Marquis appropriately quoted…
“Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.”
